My name is Kalyn Hoggard, I’m a fly fishing enthusiast and certified casting instructor through Fly Fishers International. I compete on the United States Fly Casting team, and am a volunteer for Veterans on the Fly. I have been fly fishing and guiding for nearly two decades. I started in Arkansas where I grew up moved to South Florida, then on to the Carolina's, and I am now here in Wisconsin. With the wealth of experience I have accumulated over the years I can usually answer any question you may have about fly fishing, and can help you prepare for any fly adventure you may go on. I wrote Front Page articles for Sexy Loops for about a year, and my stories can be found there in the archives if you are interested. The most joy I get out of the sport now is getting to see others grow and become successful fly fishers. It may be cliche to say, but I’d much rather see my coaching through another angler and the joy in their eyes when they are successful over my own success out on the water. On the fishing side of things, I often refer to this as my final evolution in fly fishing. I now telepathically catch fish on the fly through others. If i have passed on my understanding well enough maybe my students have taught their kids, parents, or friends as well. I may even be catching fish telepathically through people I don’t even know. I really love the idea of that.
